My Chemical Romance

Last night I went to see MCR at the 02 Arena (Millennium Dome) and it was a great night, the atmosphere was incredible and although I was almost deafened by screaming girls, most of which were probably between the ages of 10 and 15, I saw an amazing performance and stage show with Pyrotechnics and everything, was really entertaining.

Only problem was, now, please forgive me for getting all technical with you, I could hardly hear Gerard for all but 2 or 3 of the songs, it was almost like they were playing instrumental for some songs and I thought to myself, Why the hell......... When you have Millions of pounds worth of sound rig in front of you and you are supposedly professional sound techs, would you in a million years think that the sound quality on the night was acceptable??

Anyway, I know for a fact that most people really enjoyed it, you could see it on their faces (and yes, a smiling Emo is like the end of the rainbow, it is something you search your whole life for) but I know I am not alone, this one guy (who I will say was SLIGHTLY drunk, nah, actually he looked pretty hammered) spoke perfect sense when he said that all his friends loved the gig and said how perfect it was but how he argued with them that it wasn't perfect because the sound was bad, we stood there debating the matter until Kelly dragged me away with the fact that our taxi was waiting for us, see though, drunk or not, the guy knew what he was talking about.

Sometimes I think it is a curse to be in this business and go to gigs, I have always had a very sharp sense of hearing and able to pick out even the tiny things that don't sit well within a sound, I always enjoy going to see bands but always find myself picking holes in the technical side, never in the quality of the band, but often in the sound tech team, it is sad really, the sound tech should take as much pride in the gig as the artist does, it would be like having a gallery full of masterpieces and hanging them in plastic clip frames..............

Anyway, that is the end of my Rant

My Chemical Romance 9.5/10
Sound Technicians 3/10 (at least the instruments sounded good)
